Washington Park Interpretive Panels 2024

The creation of the Washington Park Reservoir dates back to the late 1800’s. It’s complicated history reflects the challenges of technology, social equality, workers rights, and the demands of a growing city. In the 2000s, the reservoir was again in need of major repairs. As part of the reservoir’s newest revitalization program, a series of glass panels were commissioned to illustrate (through pictures and narrative) the history of the Washington Park reservoir. These new panels have been inlaid into the retaining walls surrounding the reservoir and installed in the doors of the famed “Pump house”.
